Dave’s Hot Chicken New Menu Items: 2026 Timeline
A dated guide to new food formats, collectible meals and current specials. Not every item marked “new” has a verified launch day.

The word “new” on a menu does not tell you when an item first went on sale. It also does not mean the item will stay. This timeline separates verified 2026 launch details from products featured on Dave’s website when checked on October 31.
Official announcements put Hot Mozz on sale from March 10 and Dave’s Big Trio from May 19. The X-Men ’97 meal launched July 1 through sell-out. The Mac-Loaded Slider was announced August 28. Later website features confirm what was being promoted when checked, without proving an exact first-sale date.
2026 dates and the evidence behind them
| Date | Update | How to read it |
|---|---|---|
| March 3 announcement; March 10 availability | Hot Mozz | Announcement and sale dates are different |
| May 18 announcement; May 19 launch | Dave’s Big Trio | The launch brought several food formats together |
| July 1 launch | X-Men ’97 collectible meal | A limited bundle through sell-out |
| August 28 announcement | Mac-Loaded Slider | A former fan combination became an official limited-time item |
| October 31 website check | XL Slider and seasonal Slasher drink featured | A checked promotion date, not a confirmed first-sale date |
This is a selected verified timeline. It is not a claim that Dave’s released nothing else in 2026. It also does not treat every website banner as evidence of a nationwide launch on the day we happened to view it.
March: Hot Mozz introduced a different main ingredient
The March 3 Hot Mozz announcement gave March 10 as the availability date. It described breaded fried mozzarella with the brand’s heat choices and several serving formats.
That was a menu expansion beyond chicken and cauliflower. It should not be mistaken for cheese added to a regular chicken tender. The mozzarella is the main item in the Hot Mozz format.
The Hot Mozz guide explains pieces, meals and sliders. Read the exact serving name when ordering. A single piece, a meal with fries and a larger box are different purchases even when they share the same food.
May: Big Trio combined familiar formats
Dave’s May 18 Big Trio announcement set the launch for May 19. It described Dave’s Bites, Mini Sliders and Hot Mozz together with dipping sauces.
A new combination does not mean every component was first created on that date. The announcement specifically described the return of Mini Sliders. Keep a product’s original introduction, return and inclusion in a bundle separate.
Another useful distinction is the launch description versus a later configurable menu. Our Build Your Own Big Trio guide covers the ordering choices checked for that format. Use the current restaurant’s options when deciding what your order will contain.
July: the X-Meal added a collectible promotion
The X-Men ’97 meal is a different kind of menu update. Its July 1 launch paired a food choice with one blind-bag figurine. It was a limited collectible offer rather than proof that a new chicken recipe became permanent.
Our X-Men ’97 meal guide records the launch offer and explains the difference between ordinary food availability and collectible stock. The four-character collection did not mean that every meal included four figures.
This distinction helps when an old promotion keeps appearing in search. A restaurant can continue selling a slider-and-fries meal after a related toy bundle is unavailable. Search visibility does not prove that the promotional package can still be bought.
August: a mac-topped slider became official
The August 28 Mac-Loaded Slider announcement described a combination that guests had called The Big Shot. It added mac and cheese to the chicken slider and presented the named version as a limited-time menu item.
That gives the product two different stories: its earlier life as a fan combination and its later official release. Calling it only a secret-menu hack leaves out the 2026 change.
The Mac-Loaded Slider article covers the food serving. Our secret-menu and TikTok guide explains how to evaluate other viral orders without assuming that a nickname guarantees availability or free extras.
What the official website featured on October 31
At the time of this check, the official website featured Big Trio, the XL Slider, a seasonal Slasher frozen drink and the Mac-Loaded Slider. The Slasher feature described wildberry purée with a collectible cup and straw.
The XL Slider feature described two large tenders in a larger bun. That is a format change worth checking separately from a regular slider. Our XL Slider guide explains the serving and local-price context.
The checked banners did not establish exact first-sale dates for XL Slider or Slasher. We therefore record them as featured by October 31 rather than assigning an invented launch day.
Use the timeline to understand an item, then check your branch
An announcement date tells you when news was published. A sale date tells you when the offer was scheduled to begin. A website check tells you what was visible at that moment. None of those alone guarantees stock at every restaurant later.
Before ordering, confirm the item name, included sides, available heat choices and complete local total. For a seasonal drink or collectible bundle, check whether the special component is still supplied.
Use the Dave’s Hot Chicken menu for the full food overview. This timeline is most useful for understanding what changed during 2026 and why an older article may describe a different version. Let the selected restaurant’s current listing settle what you can actually buy.
